A1 and A2 serve the ball to B1 and B2 from inside the court. B1 and B2 pass the ball to C1 and C2. C1 and C2 catch the ball.

A1, A2, B1 and B2 follow the ball. C1 and C2 move to the back of the court. The spare players at the back of the court take the positions of A1 and A2.

Three-person block without ball

Middle blocker without ball

Spike and short ball

First variant (left-hand side of the diagram):

A spikes the ball to B or C. This players digs the ball back to A, after which A plays a short ball in the direction of the other player. The other player moves towards A, plays the ball back to A, and moves back to his starting position.

Spiking on 2 and 3
