DH1 plays the ball to setter S, who sets the ball back to DH1 and then moves to the other side of the net. DH1 spikes the ball across the net to DH2. DH2 digs the ball to S, who sets the ball back to DH2 and moves to the other side of the net again. DH2 spikes the ball to DH1 and the drill continues as before.

Backward setting for four

A overhead passes the ball to B. B overhead passes the ball backwards to C. Immediately afterwards, B, D, and A switch positions. C overhead passes the ball to A (who is now in the middle) and the drill continues as before.

Backward setting for three

A overhead passes the ball to B. B overhead passes the ball backwards to C and immediately switches positions with A. C overhead passes the ball to A (who is now in the middle) and the drill continues as before.

Moving, passing, and spiking

S serves to the right or the left of the opponent's back court and moves into the court afterwards. One of the two passers moves to the left or the right, depending on the direction of the serve. The player who doesn't pass, spikes.
